IT service provider Infosys has announced the appointment of former Salesforce executive Chitra Nayak as independent director. Her appointment on March 25, 2021 is based on the recommendation of the Appointments and Remuneration Committee of the Infosys Board of Directors.
The appointment is for a period of three years, subject to the approval of the shareholders. Nayak has more than 25 years of professional experience in the areas of market introduction, business management and operations management in various organizations.
She currently sits on the board of directors of Invitae, a medical genetics company. at Morneau Shepell, a state-of-the-art human resource services company; with Forward Air, a transportation and logistics company; and Intercom, a messaging platform company, reports the file. She also advises startups on go-to-market strategies.

Most recently, she was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and led the go-to-market strategy at Comfy, a real estate technology startup. Previously, Nayak was COO of Funding Circle, an online marketplace for SME loans.
She has held leadership positions at Salesforce for eight years as director of operations, platform, and senior vice president of global sales development, and is the co-founder of Neythri.org, which supports female workers in South Asia.

“Chitra Nayak brings Silicon Valley expertise and experience that will provide valuable insights as Infosys expands its digital consulting and solutions offering to support companies in their strategic digital transformation intent,” said Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw. The Infosys committee said.
Nayak also brings a deep understanding of ESG through her thought leadership and participation in multiple forums focused on diversity, inclusion and climate change, she added.
