Nissan Motor India has recently announced the appointment of Saurabh Vatsa as its new Deputy Managing Director. Vatsa, who will be reporting directly to Managing Director Rakesh Srivastava, brings a wealth of experience to the role, particularly from his time at Stellantis where he served as Brand Head for Citroen India and was a member of their leadership team.

Before joining Stellantis, Vatsa had a significant tenure with General Motors, spanning over twenty years. This period included various leadership roles and long-term assignments in South Korea. His extensive background in the Asian automotive market is marked by his involvement in diverse strategic business areas, including product planning, program management, sales, marketing, communications, and retail/commercial sales.

Frank Torres, President of Nissan India Operations, expressed enthusiasm about Vatsa’s appointment, highlighting its significance as Nissan Motor India enters a pivotal year in 2024. He remarked on Vatsa’s role in aligning with Nissan’s commitment to invest USD 600 million (approximately Rs 5,300 crore) in India. This investment is a part of the Alliance’s transformation plan, which aims to introduce new products to the Indian market. Torres is confident that Vatsa’s leadership will contribute significantly to Nissan’s continued growth and success, especially following the success of the Nissan Magnite.
