Vodafone Idea Ltd has launched a digital payment service that allows its prepaid and postpaid customers to pay and recharge their bills, the company said in a statement on Friday. The service, called VIC Virtual Agent, allows transactions through all gateways or UPI (Unified Payment Interface).
The digital service will also allow payments and recharges through WhatsApp and will be available for all the company’s digital assets, the telecom operator said.
“Vodafone Idea prepaid customers can instantly top up any prepaid plan with just two clicks from the VIC virtual agent, including WhatsApp,” said Birla Group.
The platform will enable easier and faster digital payments and will offer a personalized user experience based on the changing behavior of the mobile consumer, according to Vodafone Idea.
In 2020, Vodafone Idea introduced the VIC chatbot service on WhatsApp. VIC helps customers respond instantly to a wide variety of services, including bill payments, recharges, plan activation, new connections, data balances, and billing requests.
“VIC is intuitive, easy to use, secure, and enables customers to converse with Vodafone Idea using the power of artificial intelligence,” the company said.
Vodafone Idea customers using VIC will receive a link by SMS that they can use to pay and recharge.
