
Microsoft has named Rodrigo Kede Lima as its new President for Asia, taking over from Ahmed Mazhari, who held the role for five years. Both leaders will work together to ensure a smooth transition until September 30, 2024. After fully taking over his role, he will report to Judson Althoff, Microsoft’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.
Lima will focus will be on digital transformation and innovation, especially in AI. He will be responsible for Microsoft’s operations in 20 countries and lead a team of 30,000 employees. He joined Microsoft in 2020, leading teams in the Americas and Latin America and expanding Microsoft’s reach in the enterprise market. Before Microsoft, he President of IBM Brazil and Latin America.

Althoff praised Lima’s experience in digital transformation and leadership. He noted Lima’s his ability to empower teams and partners as AI continues to evolve in the region. He also acknowledged Mazhari’s contributions to the growth of Microsoft in Asia.

With a strong background in corporate finance and technology, Lima believes that AI holds a lot of potential AI to drive growth in Asia. He called the region a global leader in the AI era. He has now relocated to Singapore. Lima holds a degree in engineering and an MBA.
