Citi names Jeegar Shah as CFO for India Business By Elets News Network - 27 June 2024

Citi has appointed Jeegar Shah as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its India operations, effective from June 1, 2024. Shah has been serving as the interim CFO since February 2024 and previously held the position of Cluster Controller for Citi’s South Asia Cluster.

Shah, in his new role, will be the point of contact for all key financial matters in India. He will provide strategic financial management support to Ashu Khullar, the Citi Country Officer for India and Head of Banking for the Indian Sub-Continent. He will report to Mui-Eng Teo, CFO for Citi’s Asia South Cluster.


“Jeegar’s deep knowledge of our operations in India and proven track record in financial management make him exceptionally qualified for this critical role,” stated Khullar.

Shah has more than 19 years of experience in financial roles like financial and regulatory reporting, audits, and regulatory examinations. He has also led strategic finance initiatives across Citi’s businesses.

A Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Shah commented on his appointment saying, “This is an exciting opportunity to provide financial stewardship as we build on Citi’s longstanding commitment to the Indian market.” He also holds a Master’s degree in Commerce from the University of Mumbai.
