Essar Power has announced the appointment of Ankur Kumar as the Chief Executive Officer for its renewables business. Ankur Kumar brings over two decades of experience in the Renewable Energy and Public Infrastructure sectors to his new position. Previously, he held the CEO position at ACME Solar Holdings, where he led the company’s expansion into the green hydrogen and ammonia sectors and extended their operations geographically. He has also worked with TBEA Xinjiang Sunoasis.

In his role at Essar Power, Ankur will work closely with both the board and leadership teams to enhance the company’s renewable energy portfolio and attract other key talents to advance Essar Power’s initiatives in green energy.

Prashant Ruia, Director at Essar Capital, expressed his enthusiasm about Ankur’s appointment, noting, “Ankur’s extensive experience and proven leadership are crucial as we aim to pivot Essar Power towards a sustainable future.”

Ankur Kumar, who holds an MBA in Finance and Strategy from the Indian Institute of Management, Indore, commented on his new role: “I am excited to contribute to shaping a future that leverages renewable energy solutions. Our combined efforts are crucial for driving beneficial change for future generations.”
