NetApp® (NASDAQ: NTAP), an intelligent data solution, has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud, introducing new service levels and tools to facilitate the use of data for generative AI (GenAI) and hybrid cloud applications. The announcement includes the introduction of the Flex service level for Google Cloud NetApp Volumes, allowing for storage volumes of nearly any size and a preview of NetApp’s GenAI toolkit designed for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) on the Google Cloud Vertex AI platform.

Key Developments:

• New Flex Service Level: Google Cloud and NetApp have introduced a Flex option for NetApp Volumes, designed to offer scalable storage solutions that adjust to the specific demands of varying cloud workloads. This flexibility helps enterprises manage data more dynamically across the Google Cloud infrastructure.
• Four Service Levels for Diverse Needs: Customers can now select from Standard, Premium, Extreme, and the new Flex service levels based on their specific storage and performance requirements. These options support everything from virtual machines and file shares to high-performance databases.
• GenAI Toolkit Preview: NetApp is also unveiling a preview of its GenAI toolkit, which integrates with Google Cloud Vertex AI to enhance RAG operations. This toolkit is designed to streamline AI data pipelines, ensuring efficient, secure, and automated workflows.
• Availability: The Flex service level will be widely available across 15 Google Cloud regions by the second quarter of 2024, with plans to expand further by the end of the year. The GenAI toolkit will enter public preview in the latter half of 2024.
