In a strategic move to bolster its leadership team, Pocket FM, a pioneering startup in the audio series domain, has announced the appointment of Umesh Bude as its new Senior Vice President of Engineering. Umesh’s rich background includes significant roles at notable startups, including Unacademy, where he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Engineering and Product, and at OYO, where he was the Chief Technological Officer for the vacation homes sector. Rupesh Gopal has also joined Pocket FM as the Vice President of Engineering and will be reporting to Umesh. Furthermore, the company has welcomed Rohan Gandhi, with his previous executive experience at Blinkit and Tata Digital, as Vice President of Analytics. These key figures will be under the direct supervision of Prateek Dixit, the startup’s Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer.

Prateek Dixit expressed his enthusiasm for the new additions to their leadership team, emphasizing the appointments as pivotal for the company’s push towards technological innovation and excellence. Following a successful Series D funding round that raised $103 million, led by Lightspeed with participation from Stepstone Group, these executive hires mark a significant phase in Pocket FM’s growth strategy. Launched in 2018 by Rohan Nayak, Nishant S, and Prateek Dixit, Pocket FM has rapidly evolved, offering a rich selection of podcasts and audio content in various Indian languages. The company, which has recently made its foray into the US market, now reports an annual recurring revenue of over $150 million and has been experiencing a quarterly growth rate of 57%.
