Boeing has appointed Nikhil Joshi as the Managing Director of Boeing Defense India (BDI), effective immediately. Joshi, who brings a rich tapestry of over 30 years experience in the defence realm, has previously served in significant roles including over five years as Country Manager at Eaton and a commendable 22-year tenure as a Commander in the Indian Navy. Academically, he is well-equipped with a Bachelor of Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, a Bachelor’s degree from the National Defence Academy, and an MBA in Strategy and Marketing from the Indian School of Business.

Stationed in New Delhi, Joshi will report directly to Salil Gupte, Boeing’s President in India and South Asia. His key responsibilities include bolstering Boeing’s footprint in the Indian aerospace sector, facilitating close collaboration with Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), and Boeing Global Services (BGS), as well as spearheading initiatives to boost the mission readiness and modernisation efforts of the Indian defence forces.

Salil Gupte expressed his enthusiasm about Joshi joining the BDI leadership team, emphasizing the importance of efficient solutions, timely support, and flawless execution in fulfilling commitments to customers and the Indian aerospace and defence industry. He stated, “We welcome Nikhil to Boeing India and are keen on working together to meet our customers’ future needs.”

Scott Carpendale, VP of BGS-GS Asia Pacific, also extended a warm welcome to Joshi, highlighting his vast experience and leadership skills as key drivers for Boeing’s growth strategy in India and its ongoing commitment to the country’s defence sector.
