LTTS has revealed that it is using generative artificial intelligence (AI) to assist automobile manufacturers throughout the world in their shift to software-defined vehicles (SDVs) by utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The engineering team at LTTS prefers to work with the Amazon Codewhisperer AI code generator as their preferred development environment. The AI tool’s suggestions enable engineers to create intelligent applications—like autonomous braking, steering, and driver alerts—much more quickly. Additionally, it enables large language models (LLMs) developed on AWS to be used by fleet managers, maintenance personnel, and other stakeholders to communicate with and retrieve vehicle information.

To create cloud-based vehicle test automation and reuse, LTTS is utilizing Amazon Bedrock in addition to CodeWhisperer. Amazon Bedrock is a fully managed service that provides access to industry-leading foundational models. Furthermore, LTTS is assisting businesses in gathering, transforming, and transferring vehicle data to the cloud in order to enhance the quality, safety, and autonomy of vehicles with Amazon IoT Fleetwise.

According to the firm, LTTS has expedited the development of next-generation SDVs with customized safety and security features, including connected services, autonomous driving, and digital cockpits, by utilizing AWS’s technologies. Using virtual workbenches on AWS to build and test new software for vehicle electronic control units (ECUs), which regulate an automobile’s operation, has slashed the time it takes to introduce new goods by 25%.

Additionally, LTTS has partnered with AWS to launch a training program. Through seminars on generative AI, the company’s Global Engineering Academy will support employees’ ongoing skill development.

According to Alind Saxena, President, Sales, and Whole-Time Director at LTTS, “Generative AI is ushering in a new era of possibilities for the automotive industry, and with AWS cloud services we are able to innovate quickly to help our customers improve mobility.” Driving is being revolutionized as we embrace the power of artificial intelligence and cloud computing, rather than just innovating. In order to support this shift, we’re dedicated to educating 1,000 engineers on generative AI with AWS by March 2024, making sure that the most innovative ideas and cutting-edge technology will shape the mobility of the future.”
