Barracuda names Siroui Mushegian as its new CIO By Elets News Network - 24 June 2023

Barracuda Networks named Siroui Mushegian as its new chief information officer (CIO). Mushegian joins the company with over two decades of IT leadership experience.

Barracuda CEO Hatem Naguib stated that Mushegian’s strategic thinking and dedication to excellence will be critical as the company navigates the ever-changing threat landscape. “By leveraging Siroui’s expertise, we hope to expand on and implement cutting-edge measures that protect our business and, by extension, the assets of our customers,” he said.


Mushegian most recently joined Barracuda from BlackLine, where she was vice president of IT and was in charge of all aspects of the company’s internal corporate IT.

Prior to joining BlackLine, she was the Chief Technology Officer of America’s flagship PBS station, The WNET Group in New York City, where she oversaw broadcast technology, corporate applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and strategic technology initiatives and solutions.

Mushegian previously worked for the National Basketball Association (NBA) as vice president of IT customer experience, program delivery, and business operations.

Mushegian was previously senior director of global IT customer service delivery and management at Ralph Lauren Corporation. She also worked as an associate director, IT Operations at Time Inc., Time Warner Corporation’s magazine division (now Warner Media).

Mushegian, who has a master’s degree in management and strategy from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and finance from the University of Connecticut, stated, “I’m thrilled to start this journey with Barracuda and eager to collaborate with the team to strengthen its systems and infrastructure.”

She went on to say, “Cybersecurity is critical in today’s digital landscape, and I look forward to contributing my expertise and strategic vision to Barracuda.”

In December of the previous year. Joe Billante has been named the company’s new chief financial officer. He joined eBay, where he spent the previous 13 years in various business, finance, and analytics executive leadership roles. Prior to eBay, he worked for General Electric for 11 years in various finance roles, including CFO of GE Healthcare’s $1 billion international division.

Barracuda hired Maria Martinez as vice president of channels for the Americas in April of this year and promoted Karen Ward to vice president of MSP sales for the Americas. Martinez was previously Logitech’s North American head of channel partners and cloud platform alliances. She has over 20 years of experience in the channel. Ward has spent over six years with Barracuda Networks’ MSP business unit, focusing on partner success and development.
