Mumbai-based Mathan Babu Kasilingam left NPCI, where he was CISO for three years. He has now joined Vodafone Idea as Chief Technology Security Officer & Data Privacy Officer. Kasilingam replaced Amit Pradhan, who previously headed cybersecurity at Vodafone Idea.
Amid the current privacy policy discussions in the country, the telecommunications industry is too enthusiastic to invest in security initiatives and comply with data protection rules and regulations. In this new role, Kasilingam will be responsible for cybersecurity, digital security units, data protection standards and other compliance activities at Vodafone Idea.

Before joining Telco, he was the CISO responsible for cybersecurity at NPCI. He introduced several new privacy initiatives and practices across the company. Kasilingam has more than 16 years of experience in cybersecurity. He has worked with companies such as HDFC Bank, Symantec, and others.
Kasilingam completed his BE in Electrical & Electronics from Sri Siva Subramaniya Nadar College of Engineering and holds certification in CISSP.
