Misconfigurations in SaaS applications are a regular issue. To address this, Palo Alto Networks introduced new Prisma SASE technologies that allow clients to use SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM) capabilities to discover and rectify misconfigurations in SaaS programs.

With hybrid work now widely accepted as the norm for the post-pandemic workforce and large volumes of sensitive data now housed in SaaS apps, the potential of SaaS misconfiguration poses a severe security risk to enterprises. According to Statista, the average organisation will have around 110 SaaS applications (apps) that must be secured by 2021.

“SaaS apps have enabled enterprises to let their workers work from wherever they are most productive.” The large amounts of sensitive data created, stored, and exchanged by SaaS applications, on the other hand, constitute a severe risk of data breach owing to SaaS misconfiguration. Simply put, the world requires a SASE solution that can manage the configuration and security of SaaS applications,” said Anand Oswal, Palo Alto Networks’ senior vice president of Network Security. “With today’s Prisma SASE improvements, we are dramatically boosting the security posture of SaaS apps by leveraging the Palo Alto Networks Next-Gen CASB, which allows users to quickly inspect and change security settings for numerous SaaS apps in a single location.”
