India, Singapore Ink Four MoUs on Digital Development, Healthcare, Electronics, and Skill Development By Elets News Network - 05 September 2024

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, Lawrence Wong, signed four MoUs on digital development, health and family welfare, electronics and IT, and skill development.

Key MoUs Signed


Digital Development: The MoU will focus on cooperation in digital technologies such as cybersecurity, 5G quantum computing, and artificial intelligence. It will cover upskilling and reskilling of workers in digital skills.

Health and Family Welfare: This MoU will cover healthcare research, innovation, and human resource development. It will also involve opportunities for Indian healthcare professionals in Singapore.

Electronics: India and Singapore will collaborate to create semiconductor clusters in electronics manufacturing and develop talent in semiconductor design and manufacturing. The accord will attract Singaporean investments in India.

Skill Development: This MoU aims to improve the efforts of the two countries in skill development through technical and vocational education training.

PM Modi will also call on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and other senior leaders. He proposes calling on business chiefs, especially those from the semiconductor industry, who will likely visit a semiconductor manufacturing facility. The visit comes after Modi’s recent visit to Brunei.
