An employee working in the Noida office of IT major HCL Technologies has tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus, days after he returned from abroad and went into self-imposed isolation, the company has said.

“Unfortunately, one employee from our Noida office has been tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus while he was in self-isolation after his return from international travel and hence our office is following all government and health advisory protocols. All prescribed protocols of sanitization and contact tracing have been done,” an HCL Technologies spokesperson was quoted as saying in media reports.

The infected HCL employee has been currently isolated and “all measures are being taken to provide the best medical care to him and support to his family,” the spokesperson added.

The company has invoked its COVID-19 contingency plan in all locations and employees are encouraged to Work from Home to aid social distancing.
