Glean, an enterprise GenAI startup, has opened a technology centre in Bengaluru, employing 150 staff in sectors like finance, business operations, sales, and R&D. The company is on the path to establish itself as a day-zero employer at India’s top five IITs, having already hired 12 students.
It has planned to triple its workforce in India to 450 by the end of 2025, matching its global team of 450 employees.

India has a pool of skilled technology professionals, CEO and founder Arvind Jain stated. He further added “Our Bengaluru office will enable us to closely collaborate with Indian enterprises, helping them unlock the full potential of their knowledge through our state-of-the-art AI platform. Additionally, this office will serve as a crucial hub for our global operations, driving a significant portion of our international projects. In fact, it will be our biggest investment outside of the US.”

Glean is focusing on hiring machine learning experts rather than specialists in large language models due to the field’s novelty, he added.

Glean’s AI assistant platform leverages search and retrieval augmented generation (RAG) technology to increase productivity, with users averaging 14 queries daily and saving 2-3 hours per week per employee.
Utilising its unique knowledge bases, the platform aims to create custom generative AI experiences for businesses. Glean delivers reliable answers based on knowledge graphs, scales to enterprise needs, and integrates with 100 connectors without requiring professional services, data training, or manual fine-tuning, Jain revealed.
Jain is a former Google engineer who led teams in Search, Maps and YouTube products. He also co-founded Rubrik, a cloud data management company that provides services like data backup, recovery, and cloud management, and helps organisations manage their data safely.
