Britannia Industries has officially announced the appointment of Susheel Navanale as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective from April 3, 2024. This strategic move comes as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance its digital and IT capabilities, with the Nomination and Remuneration Committee strongly endorsing Navanale’s candidacy.
Boasting a rich educational background, including a Master’s Degree in Industrial & Management Systems Engineering from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Engineering from NITK, Surathkal, Navanale is well-equipped for the role. His career is marked by significant achievements in leading global, cross-functional teams towards digital innovation and IT strategy execution.

Susheel Navanale’s professional journey includes impactful stints at IFFCO Group, Tata Consumer Products, and Hindustan Unilever, where he was instrumental in driving cost efficiencies, improving operational effectiveness, and fostering revenue growth, thereby securing a competitive advantage for these organizations.

This appointment comes at a time when Britannia Industries, a leading name in India’s FMCG sector known for its wide range of products including biscuits, bread, rusk, cakes, and dairy items, navigates through a challenging phase. Despite a 2.2% increase in revenue from operations, which reached Rs 4,191.83 crore in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2024, the company witnessed a 40.11% drop in its consolidated net profit, amounting to Rs 556.39 crore. Following the announcement, Britannia’s shares experienced a slight decrease of 1.09%, pricing at Rs 4,842 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
