Edited excerpts:

How has the “Made in India” philosophy shaped Sparsh CCTV’s journey and its impact on the industry?

The “Made in India” philosophy has been a cornerstone of Sparsh CCTV’s journey, driving our mission to transform the Indian electronic security landscape. Since our inception in 2002, we have committed to making India a global hub for advanced security solutions by ensuring that our hardware, software, and design are entirely produced locally. This self-reliant approach allows us to control every stage of the production lifecycle, from conception to execution, ensuring top-notch quality, security, and customisation. Our industry-first compliance with the Essential Requirements (ER) certification by STQC, aligned with the cybersecurity standards outlined in the Public Procurement Order (PPO) of March 7th, 2024, by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), demonstrates our rigorous adherence to cybersecurity protocols. This commitment only underscores our technological leadership and contributes to India’s self-reliance. Moreover, the “Made in India” philosophy has significantly impacted the electronic security industry by reducing dependence on imports and strengthening the domestic supply chain. Our initiatives in local manufacturing have elevated industry standards and fostered job creation, skill development, and indigenous innovation, cementing India’s position as a formidable player in the global security landscape and establishing trust through locally compliant, cyber-secure solutions.

The company has introduced AI-powered video analytics and IoT-enabled security solutions. Could you share specific examples of how these technologies have transformed security operations across industries?

Sparsh CCTV seamlessly integrates AI-driven and IoT-enabled technologies across various sectors exemplified by our role in the USBRL project, where the integration with SCADA systems facilitates real-time monitoring of train movement and signalling, enhancing operational efficiency and safety. Our IoT-powered solutions in traffic management detect critical violations such as red light breaches, speed infractions, and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) while providing adaptive congestion monitoring. These systems generate instant alerts to law enforcement, significantly improving urban safety frameworks.

In the logistics sector, it enables automated parcel tracking and inventory management, ensuring seamless monitoring across supply chains. At stations and airports, it helps in real-time crowd analytics, facial recognition, and detection of suspicious behaviour, improving passenger security and operational efficiency. Additionally, our latest CCTV AI integrated camera facilitates environmental monitoring, detecting temperature, pollution levels, and humidity, encouraging a safer and more adaptive infrastructure.

In retail environments, AI and IoT-based video analytics provide valuable insights, such as footfall analysis, theft detection, and store layout optimisation through heat mapping insights. These advanced solutions help businesses enhance both security measures and customer experiences, driving smarter and more data-driven decision-making processes.

What role does AI play in making surveillance systems smarter and more efficient? How do you see this technology evolving in the next five years?

CCTV cameras have transformed into intelligent surveillance tools, with AI acting as their cognitive engine. The camera recognises faces, objects, and behaviours, enabling proactive monitoring and minimising human intervention. Integrated with IoT, it swiftly identifies suspicious activities like unauthorised access, triggering real-time alerts to enhance risk mitigation.

AI-driven anticipates threats in critical infrastructures and ensures improving response times. With IoT promoting interconnected ecosystems of cameras and sensors, and cloud-based AI enabling remote management and advanced analytics, surveillance systems are becoming smarter, more predictive, and more seamlessly integrated into broader security frameworks.

What are the key trends dominating the electronic security and surveillance industry in 2025, and how is Sparsh positioned to lead in this environment?

The year 2025 marks a transformative shift for the Indian Security Industry. Effective April 9, 2025, only Essential Requirements (ER)-Compliant CCTV cameras, including imports from neighbouring countries, will be permitted for sale in India. This regulatory milestone aims to safeguard the domestic market from unverified imports, enhancing the development of cyber-secured, world-class surveillance solutions by Indian manufacturers. It further strengthens the country’s surveillance infrastructure, driving innovation, self-reliance, and global competitiveness.

Sparsh CCTV proudly stands as the first and leading company to achieve ER certification by STQC, with a majority of its products aligned with the cybersecurity standards outlined in the Public Procurement Order (PPO) dated March 7, 2024, issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). This certification underscores Sparsh’s leadership in delivering secure and reliable surveillance solutions.
