Databricks has expanded its partnership with Microsoft through the 2030s, strengthening its use of the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and adopting Azure Cobalt, Microsoft’s custom Arm-based processors, for data-intensive and agentic AI workloads.
The partnership aims to deliver greater performance, efficiency and scalability for enterprise AI applications. Microsoft will also continue integrating Databricks’ AI capabilities, including its conversational analytics tool Genie, across its products.

The development comes as Databricks expands rapidly in the enterprise AI market. The company’s platform is used by more than 20,000 organisations globally, including 70% of Fortune 500 companies.
