Indian AI startup Sarvam AI is preparing to open its voice AI agents platform, Sarvam Samvaad, to the broader market, marking one of the company’s biggest commercial expansion moves to date.

Until now, the platform has primarily been available to enterprises and high-volume customers, including NBFC Tata Capital, which uses Samvaad for multilingual customer interactions across its consumer lending products. With the upcoming rollout, Sarvam AI plans to replace its existing waitlist model with a self-serve platform, allowing businesses of all sizes to sign up and start using the service.

The company is expected to offer free access with usage-based limits, while premium paid plans will cater to businesses requiring higher volumes and advanced capabilities.

According to industry sources, conversational AI agents account for nearly 80% of Sarvam AI’s revenue, with the startup currently operating at an annual revenue run rate of approximately $12 million. The expansion is expected to accelerate adoption of AI-powered voice solutions among startups, SMEs, and enterprises.

The development comes at a time when Sarvam AI is reportedly in discussions to raise $250 million in funding from investors including NVIDIA, Accel, and HCLTech at a valuation of around $1.5 billion. The company is also said to be exploring global growth opportunities, including plans to establish an office in San Francisco.

The public launch of Samvaad highlights the growing demand for multilingual voice AI solutions and reinforces Sarvam AI’s ambition to become a key player in the global conversational AI market.
