Google DeepMind and Agile Robots Collaborate to Bring AI Intelligence to Robotics By cioNetworks - 26 March 2026

Google DeepMind

Google DeepMind has partnered with robotics company Agile Robots to accelerate the integration of advanced AI into real-world robotic systems, marking a significant step toward intelligent automation.

The collaboration will combine DeepMind’s Gemini Robotics foundation models with Agile Robots’ industrial robotics platform, enabling machines to understand, reason, and adapt to dynamic environments rather than simply execute predefined tasks.

A key objective of the partnership is to deploy AI models directly into large-scale industrial robotics systems, spanning sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, and electronics. These real-world deployments will generate continuous data, which will be used to train and refine AI models, creating a feedback loop that improves performance over time.

Unlike traditional automation, the new approach focuses on adaptive and reasoning-based robotics, where machines can interpret complex instructions, respond to changing conditions, and make decisions autonomously.

Agile Robots, which already has thousands of robotic systems deployed globally, will serve as a large-scale testing ground for DeepMind’s AI, helping bridge the gap between AI research and practical, real-world applications.

This partnership reflects a broader industry shift toward “physical AI”, where leading technology companies are moving beyond digital assistants to build intelligent systems capable of operating in the physical world.
