Day 1 Highlights: 25th September 2025

The summit opened with a welcome address from Dr. Ravi Gupta, Founder, CEO & Editor-in-Chief, Elets Technomedia Pvt. Ltd., who emphasized the transformative potential of AI and the importance of collaboration. “AI is transforming the entire IT landscape at an unprecedented pace. Every individual and institution must adapt and embrace AI to stay relevant. The World AI Summit 2025 is the platform where we are showcasing real-world applications, success stories, and cross-sector use cases,” he said.

Abhishek Singh, IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India; DG, NIC & CEO, IndiaAI Mission, delivered a keynote on “AI for the Public Good,” highlighting India’s growing AI ecosystem. “AI has been a game-changer for the Government of India. We are ensuring access to compute for startups, researchers, and industries at just ₹65 per GPU per hour, supporting 12 startups and academic partners in building world-class LLMs and SLMs. With applications spanning healthcare, agriculture, and education, AI will contribute significantly to India’s $1 trillion mission,” he stated.

Representing the host state, Rahul Sharanappa Sankanur, IAS, Director, Department of Electronics, IT, Biotechnology & Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, highlighted Karnataka’s pivotal role in India’s AI journey. “With over 40% of India’s AI talent coming from Karnataka, the state continues to pioneer innovation. Our IT Policy 2025–2030 embraces an ‘India First’ vision, creating clusters beyond Bengaluru and fostering collaboration between startups, academia, and industry,” he said, inviting global partnerships to co-create ethical and impactful AI solutions.

Adding an industry perspective, S. Rajgopal, CEO & Managing Director, NxtGen Cloud Technologies Private Limited, cautioned about the scale of infrastructure required for India to compete globally. “Around 3 lakh crores are being spent by global tech companies, most operating at margins above 60%. We need to do far more and ensure that AI infrastructure works for India,” he said.

The summit featured several interactive presentations and live demonstrations. Mohamed Irfan Peeran, CEO of VDart, showcased VOUCH, a digital identity platform fostering trust between humans and machines, emphasizing scalable product development through centres of excellence, reusable toolkits, and labelled success frameworks.
