
Ather Energy, one of India’s pioneering electric two-wheeler manufacturers, has appointed Anjani Kumar as its Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO). In this strategic leadership role, Anjani will be instrumental in shaping Ather’s digital roadmap and fortifying its technology infrastructure across key areas such as product innovation, manufacturing operations, and customer experience. His appointment aligns with Ather’s commitment to embedding technology at the heart of its growth journey.
With over 24 years of diverse experience in steering digital transformation and IT leadership, Anjani has worked across sectors including automotive, tech, logistics, pharmaceuticals, and BFSI. He has previously held prominent roles at global giants like IBM, Cognizant, Nissan, Strides Pharma, and Tata AIG, bringing a wealth of cross-industry expertise to Ather.
As CDIO, Anjani will spearhead the development of next-generation digital platforms, boost data analytics capabilities, ensure robust cybersecurity, and strengthen the company’s IT backbone. He will also oversee multiple tech-driven verticals such as WebTech, IT and security, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), business intelligence, and digital engineering.

Anjani holds a postgraduate degree in marketing and management from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University (USA), and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Rourkela. He has been recognised with multiple industry honours, including ‘Digital Leader of the Year,’ ‘India’s Top CIO,’ and ‘Tech Icon.’
