DeepLearning.AI, the renowned online learning platform co-founded by AI pioneer Andrew Ng, has unveiled its latest offering—a Data Analytics Professional Certificate—now available on Coursera. The program is led by Sean Barnes, a senior data science and engineering expert at Netflix, and is designed to equip learners with both foundational and advanced data skills.
The certificate consists of five comprehensive courses covering core areas such as data fundamentals, applied statistics, Python, SQL, and data storytelling. What sets this program apart is its emphasis on hands-on projects inspired by real-world scenarios. Learners will engage with data challenges like analyzing sales from a Korean bakery, tracking regional trends in video game sales, and understanding factors behind customer churn in a telecom company.

A key feature of the program is its integration of Large Language Models (LLMs). Learners will explore how to leverage LLMs for stakeholder analysis, data visualization, and interactive data exploration. The course also introduces best practices for using LLMs as collaborative “thought partners” during analysis.

While the full certificate is available for a fee, Coursera users can choose to access individual courses for free by selecting the ‘Audit’ option.

Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Andrew Ng expressed excitement about the launch, highlighting the program’s real-world relevance and practical value.
In addition to the certificate, DeepLearning.AI continues to expand its suite of free short courses. Recent launches include:
- Getting Structured LLM Output, created in partnership with DotTxt, focusing on generating structured formats like JSON using LLMs.
- Vibe Coding 101 with Replit, which introduces users to Replit’s agentic AI tools for building and deploying simple applications.
With a commitment to democratising AI education, DeepLearning.AI now serves over seven million learners worldwide. Andrew Ng’s vision of accessible, future-ready education also extends to his role on Amazon’s board of directors, which he joined last year.
