
SAP has announced the appointment of Simon Davies as the president of its newly restructured Asia Pacific (APAC) division. Based in Singapore, Simon will oversee SAP’s strategy, operations, sales, services, partnerships, and profitability across key markets, including India, Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Greater China, and Southeast Asia.
In his new role, Davies will lead a workforce of over 31,000 employees across 78 offices, driving SAP’s growth and innovation in the region. The company currently collaborates with leading enterprises such as Hyundai Motor Co., Kia Motors, NEC, Coles Group, Wipro, Fujitsu, Shiseido, Himalaya, Cochlear, and Japan Airlines.

With over 25 years of experience in the APAC technology sector, Simon has played a pivotal role in developing and implementing IT solutions for major software firms, including Microsoft, Salesforce, and Oracle. Before joining SAP, he served as Senior Vice President & General Manager for APAC & Japan at Splunk for more than three years. Additionally, he is actively involved in the boards of several pre-IPO tech companies and is a member of the Australian Institute of Corporate Directors (AICD).

Manos Raptopoulos, Chief Revenue Officer for SAP APAC, EMEA, and Central & Eastern Europe, highlighted Davies’s expertise in fostering innovation and high-performance teams, stating, “Simon brings extensive experience in driving market growth and digital transformation. Under his leadership, SAP APAC will continue its momentum in cloud, AI, and customer success.”
Expressing enthusiasm for his new role, Simon Davies emphasised SAP’s commitment to cloud technology, AI, data analytics, and sustainability, noting that these will be essential in unlocking new opportunities for businesses across APAC.
