Mira Murati, the former Chief Technology Officer of OpenAI, has announced the launch of her new AI research and product startup, Thinking Machines Lab. The company aims to develop AI systems that are more transparent, customisable, and capable, making advanced artificial intelligence more accessible and aligned with human values.

In a blog post on Tuesday, Thinking Machines Lab highlighted its mission to bridge the gap between AI research and public understanding. “Knowledge of how AI systems are trained is concentrated within a few leading labs, limiting public discourse and the broader ability to harness AI effectively,” the company stated.
