
GSMA has confirmed its Board composition for the upcoming 2025-2026 term. José María Álvarez-Pallete López will continue his leadership as Chair, while Gopal Vittal, Managing Director and CEO of Bharti Airtel, retains his position as Deputy Chair. Both will serve a two-year term from January 2025 through December 2026. The announcement reinforces GSMA’s commitment to strategic leadership in the rapidly evolving telecommunications landscape.
Upon his reappointment, Álvarez-Pallete López expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am thrilled to have been reappointed as Chair, and I feel honored. I’m excited to continue collaborating with our outstanding team to accomplish our objectives and leave a lasting impression for another term.”

GSMA Director General Mats Granryd emphasized the industry’s dynamic evolution, particularly noting the impact of technological advances, digital transformation, and AI. He expressed confidence in GSMA’s position to advocate effectively for its members under the renewed leadership structure.
