
The Telangana government revealed plans for a 200-acre Artificial Intelligence (AI) City near Hyderabad, creating an AI innovation hub.
The state government announced that the AI City will include an AI Advisory Council, research networks, universities, global companies, and startups. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy also launched a logo for the AI City at the Global AI Summit 2024.

The project will feature high-end data centres and computing facilities for AI development. It will also offer the public access to AI technology through educational programs and interactive experiences. The goal is to make AI more accessible and understood by people from all walks of life.

An AI-skilled university and an experiential centre will also help create a workforce trained in AI technologies.
The state government has signed deals with various companies and institutions to support different aspects of the AI City. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said Telangana is well-prepared for the future and emphasized Hyderabad’s role in shaping the future of AI.
IT and Industry Minister D. Sridhar Babu stated that AI-driven companies can start operations soon by using available office space at the World Trade Centre in Shamshabad. He stated that Telangana’s commitment to using AI to boost its economy aims to reach a trillion-dollar scale soon.

Special Chief Secretary, IT, Jayesh Ranjan, added that the Global AI Summit will feature around 150 speakers discussing AI’s role in innovation, governance, and responsible AI use. Around 2,000 delegates, including industry leaders, academics, and government officials, are attending.
