Janak Malkani has joined WeWork India as the Head of Managed Office and Sales. Malkani has 18 years of experience in Indian real estate, and in his last role, he served as the Executive Director of CBRE Asia and Pacific.

Malkani has also served in key roles at Cushman & Wakefield (formerly DTZ International Property Adviser Pvt. Ltd.), Pantaloon Retail India Ltd., Knight Frank, and Indiaproperties.com. He also played a leading role in the Indian expansion plans of international retailers Walmart and DeBeers.

Karan Virwani, CEO of WeWork India, said, “As we work towards building a full-stack solution platform at WeWork India, our Managed Office vertical is gaining momentum and it offers businesses a comprehensive approach to office space management. With Janak’s extensive experience and proven track record, we are poised to lead the industry in delivering innovative and efficient workspace solutions.”

Commenting on his new appointment, Malkani said, “I am eager to lead the efforts in setting new standards for the industry and make WeWork India the leader in the Managed Office offerings segment in the country.”

WeWork, founded in 2010, provides shared workspaces that offer coworking spaces, private offices, and customised headquarters for clients ranging from freelancers and startups to large enterprises. These workspaces include high-speed internet, conference rooms, event spaces, and communal areas.
