3AI Holding Limited, an AI investment entity based in Abu Dhabi, has partnered with SML India to co-own ‘Hanooman’, touted as India’s most extensive and cost-effective multilingual GenAI platform. Launched at the NASSCOM NTLF Techade conference in February, ‘Hanooman’ is poised for a grand launch on May 1, 2024. This collaboration aims to harness 3AI Holding’s cutting-edge Omega generative AI technology to enhance ‘Hanooman’, marking a significant leap in AI accessibility and performance.

The partnership is set to revolutionize the AI landscape in India by targeting an ambitious user base of 200 million across 22 Indian languages within its first year. Recognizing the linguistic diversity of India, where 80% of its 1.42 billion population communicates in non-English languages, ‘Hanooman’ is designed to bridge the digital divide, ensuring widespread AI accessibility. This joint venture envisages a 50-50 ownership model between the two companies, offering a comprehensive suite of multimodal and multilingual functionalities, including text, voice, image, and code interfaces.

‘Hanooman’ represents a pioneering effort in building a foundational model by India for India, with the broader vision of fostering a global generative AI ecosystem. This initiative also aims to support startups and innovation within the AI space, in partnership with NASSCOM, by providing a robust platform for development and incubation.
