
Honeywell has appointed Anant Maheshwari as its president and chief executive officer (CEO). He was previously the president of Microsoft India. On September 4, Maheshwari will start in his new position and succeed Ben Driggs, who will move to another executive position with the organization.
Maheshwari previously worked for the technology and manufacturing company for seven years as the head of Microsoft India. The announcement also comes shortly after Maheshwari’s replacement as CEO of Microsoft India, Puneet Chandok, former Head of Amazon Web Services (AWS) India.

Maheshwari oversaw a team that interacted with policymakers, clients, and business partners while working at Microsoft. He was in charge of the company’s overall presence and business in India. He was also in charge of managing all of India’s products, solutions, services, and support offerings.

Maheshwari has also had a protracted relationship with Honeywell. Maheshwari held significant leadership positions at Honeywell before joining Microsoft. He began working there in 2004 with the country of India’s growth strategy. His successful tenure culminated in him taking charge of Honeywell India. His return to Honeywell is anticipated to hasten the company’s expansion, particularly in areas with high rates of economic expansion.
Maheshwari will oversee business development for Honeywell in China, India, Southeast Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, and Latin America in his new position. He will be based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and report to Vimal Kapur, the CEO of Honeywell.
“Honeywell has a history of growth in this portfolio over a long period of time. Anant will support us in building on our track record of achievement, enhancing our capacity to propel profitable growth for the business, according to a statement from Kapur.
“Anant’s experience over the past 20 years demonstrates that he is able to produce significant results for a variety of industries. He is the best candidate to maintain our local-to-local presence and grow Honeywell’s business in sustainability, software and digitalization, and controls and automation,” the executive continued.
Anant Maheshwari was named the new Chairperson of Nasscom for the 2023–24 fiscal year in April. He is a fellow of the Aspen Leadership Institute as well as a member of the USIBC’s India Advisory Committee. Additionally, he presided over the CII IT/ITeS committee.

Maheshwari earned his MBA in 1998 as an industry scholar from the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad. From the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani, he also has a Master of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics.
According to Honeywell’s most recent financial reports, which were released on July 27 for the quarter ending June 30, 2023, the company’s revenue increased to $9.15 billion in the second quarter of fiscal year 2023, up 2% from $9 billion YoY. In the quarter, Honeywell’s net income increased by 19% to $1.5 billion from $1.3 billion year over year.
