Kimberly-Clark has named Rajesh Gopal as the chief information officer for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

Personal care essentials were launched in the Indian market in 1995 as part of a joint venture with Hindustan Unilever. It began independent operations in September 2017, following the termination of its joint venture with Unilever.

In 2019, the company opened its Global Digital Technology Centre (GDTC) in Bangalore to digitize its global supply chain, develop AI-enabled sales tools, and leverage robotic process automation for customer service operations.

Gopal will be responsible for driving the company’s technology and digital transformation and driving business growth in the region, in his new role.Gopal has nearly two decades of experience in the IT industry, working across multiple IT domains and business processes and leading various digital and technology initiatives.

Gopal previously worked as Chief Information and Digital Officer for Indian conglomerate ITC Limited. He joined the company in June 2022 and is in charge of ITC’s digital transformation across all of its businesses.

Prior to that, in September 2019, he was appointed chief information officer of L’Oréal’s India division. He led L’Oréal’s digital transformation efforts, and his primary responsibilities included developing and implementing IT strategies.

Gopal spent 14 years at Unilever leading the IT team for the Global Procurement and Finance function. He also provided technology solutions to Unilever’s operations in over 150 countries.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he is “passionate about building tech, data, and digital foundation.”

Gopal graduated from Annamalai University in Tamil Nadu with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
