WhatsApp has started the Bharat Yatra initiative to provide in-person and on-ground training for small businesses all over India. The mobile bus tour is designed to assist small businesses in using WhatsApp to enhance their digital operations and streamline business processes.
The tour starts in Delhi-NCR, visiting markets like Nehru Place, Malviya Nagar, Amar Colony, Safdarjung Enclave, Laxmi Nagar, and Rajouri Garden. The tour will also stop at key locations in Gurgaon and Noida, including Sapphire Mall and Atta Market. Following its journey in Delhi-NCR, the bus will move on to other cities, including Ahmedabad, Surat, Nashik, Agra, Lucknow, Kanpur, Indore, and Mysore.

The program offers interactive sessions and guidance on creating a Business Profile, setting up a catalogue, and designing ads to start WhatsApp chats for small and medium businesses (SMBs). Participants will also receive training on how to use WhatsApp Business app features for customer engagement, sales processes, and business management.

Ravi Garg, Director of Business Messaging at Meta India, explained that the Bharat Yatra initiative supports small businesses by equipping them with digital tools to connect with customers and grow their businesses. The program will provide businesses with the skills needed to adapt to digital platforms and processes.
WhatsApp recently introduced updates for small businesses, including Meta Verified to enhance customer trust and tools to send customised messages such as appointment reminders and promotional updates. Meta AI is also being tested to help businesses use artificial intelligence within the WhatsApp Business app for efficient customer interactions.
Bharat Yatra is part of WhatsApp’s efforts to help small businesses in the nation. Programs like WhatsApp Se Vyapaar with CAIT, Digishaastra with India SME Forum, and the partnership with ONDC are some other examples of its work to encourage digital adoption and support India’s digital economy.
