
The US-India Business Council (USIBC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (IT E&C), Government of Telangana, to promote cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI), IT, electronics, and global capability centres (GCCs).
Telangana’s Minister for Information Technology, D Sridhar Babu, informed that the aim of the MoU is to improve the state’s relationship with the United States. “Our collaboration with USIBC is focused on driving investment, fostering innovation, and generating employment opportunities, paving the way for a future powered by cutting-edge technologies such as AI and GCCs,” he added.

Jennifer Larson, US Consul General in Hyderabad, said the United States and India have shared the goal of using technology to solve global challenges. She said the MoU shows how regional partnerships can lead to economic growth, innovation and mutual prosperity.

After the MoU was signed, an industry roundtable took place which discussed AI and GCCs, and the role of Telangana as a centre for technology.
Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary for Telangana, said the state’s technology ecosystem, supported by a skilled workforce and policies, provides a strong foundation for collaboration. He added that the partnership with USIBC aims to bring more global investments in emerging technologies.
