Agratas, the global battery business of the Tata Group, has joined forces with Tata Technologies, to expedite the development and industrialization of cutting-edge battery solutions. This partnership aims to support the design, manufacturing, and integration of high-performance battery solutions across various applications, catering to the needs of customers.

Leveraging Tata Technologies’ extensive experience spanning over 25 years in product development, digital engineering, digital manufacturing, and product supply chain, Agratas intends to shorten its product development timelines. This includes the integration of battery cells into modules and packs to meet diverse customer requirements.


The collaboration embraces Tata Group‘s holistic approach, known as #OneTata, with Tata Technologies taking on the task of developing digital business architectures to facilitate the production of top-notch battery solutions at Agratas’ gigafactories in India and the UK. This strategic alliance aligns with Tata Group’s overarching mission to create a comprehensive mobility ecosystem, furthering the production and adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs) both in India and globally. With battery cell production slated to commence in 2026, this collaboration is poised to drive Agratas’ key customers, Tata Motors and JLR, towards a fully electrified future.

Commenting on this collaboration, Tom Flack, CEO of Agratas, expressed their commitment to delivering exceptional battery solutions to customers and contributing to the global transition towards electric mobility and clean energy storage. Teaming up with Tata Technologies will enable them to tap into the company’s expertise in EV engineering, competitive design, packaging, and battery pack integration, all of which are crucial for enhancing the performance of various products, from next-generation EVs to energy-dense storage solutions.
