Abbott India’s board has officially declared the appointment of Swati Dalal as the Additional Director and Managing Director, effective from the 1st of April, 2024. The announcement was made following a board meeting on March 13, 2024. Swati Dalal, who will also be recognized as Key Managerial Personnel from the same date, is a notable member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council at Abbott India. She is also a founding member of the ‘Women Leaders of Abbott’ in India and actively sponsors the Business Advisory Council (BAC) of the Early Careers Network in the country.

Since joining Abbott India in 1995, Dalal has held various leadership positions. Her most recent role before this appointment was the General Manager of the Established Pharmaceuticals Division’s (EPD) Primary Care business from May 2023. Before that, she led Abbott’s Nutrition business in India in 2020. Before her tenure at Abbott, she contributed her skills to Knoll Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Wockhardt Ltd. Academically, she has a Bachelor of Pharmacy from P.K.M. Kundnani College of Pharmacy and a Master’s in Management Studies (Marketing) from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies. Dalal’s new role at Abbott India is set for a tenure of three years, concluding on March 31, 2027.
