Supabase Raises $500 Million in Series F Funding, Valuation Reaches $10.5 Billion By Elets News Network - 05 June 2026

Supabase

Open-source database platform Supabase has raised $500 million in a Series F funding round, taking its valuation to $10.5 billion. The latest investment underscores growing demand for infrastructure platforms that support artificial intelligence (AI)-driven applications and agent-based development environments.

The funding round was led by GIC and saw participation from existing investors including Accel, Y Combinator, Craft Ventures, Felicis, Peak XV, Coatue, and others. Stripe increased its investment in the company, while Salesforce Ventures joined as a new investor.

The announcement comes just seven months after Supabase’s previous funding round, taking the company’s total capital raised to more than $1 billion since its inception.

Growing Demand Driven by AI Applications

Supabase said demand for its platform has accelerated significantly as businesses increasingly build AI-native applications. According to the company, its customer base has more than doubled since the Series E round, while the number of databases hosted on the platform has increased by over 600% year-on-year.

Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Paul Copplestone said the rapid growth is being fueled by the rise of AI agents and coding assistants that automatically deploy and manage databases.

The company noted that AI tools are now responsible for deploying a majority of the new databases created on its platform, highlighting a major shift in how software infrastructure is being consumed and managed.

Over 250,000 Customers Worldwide

Founded in 2020, Supabase has emerged as one of the fastest-growing open-source development platforms globally. The company currently serves more than 250,000 customers and supports over 9 million developers.

Many enterprises are increasingly using Supabase as the backend infrastructure for AI-powered applications, benefiting from its integrated services that include database management, authentication, storage, real-time subscriptions, edge functions, and vector search capabilities.

Launches Multigres for Large-Scale Database Deployments

Alongside the funding announcement, Supabase unveiled a preview version of Multigres, a new open-source scaling solution designed for PostgreSQL databases.

The technology aims to help organisations scale beyond a single database instance without migrating to alternative database systems. Multigres introduces features such as horizontal scaling, database sharding, high availability, and zero-downtime migrations while maintaining compatibility with the broader PostgreSQL ecosystem.

The company believes the new offering will simplify infrastructure management for businesses handling large volumes of data and rapidly growing applications.

Focus on Agentic Infrastructure

Supabase is positioning itself as a leader in what it describes as agentic infrastructure—technology systems designed to support autonomous AI agents and next-generation software development workflows.

With fresh capital in hand, the company plans to expand its platform capabilities, strengthen its open-source ecosystem, and accelerate innovation in infrastructure tools that power AI applications.

Industry observers say the latest funding round reflects strong investor confidence in platforms that combine open-source technologies with AI-ready infrastructure, a segment expected to witness significant growth in the coming years.
