Xiaomi India has appointed Sudhin Mathur as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mathur was the Managing Director of Motorola Mobility India and Country Head of Lenovo Mobile Group before this appointment.

Mathur began his career at Modi Xerox and has worked with leading companies such as RPG Paging Services, Ericsson, Sony Ericsson, LG Electronics India, and Lenovo India. At Motorola, he played a key role in launching Lenovo’s mobile business in India, growing it from the ground up into a profitable venture with $1.5 billion in annual revenue. He also led the successful integration of Motorola Mobility after its 2016 acquisition.

Under his leadership, Lenovo/Motorola became a top-three player in the Indian mobile market, driven by a dual-brand strategy for Lenovo and Motorola based on consumer needs.

Muralikrishnan B, President of Xiaomi India, praised Mathur’s “unique blend of strategic vision and operational expertise.” He also stated that the organisation is at a critical inflection point and are planning to keep onboarding the right talent to keep the momentum going.
