Shailesh Chandra, the Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, has been named as the President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) for the 2024-2025 term. The decision was announced after a recent executive committee meeting.
Chandra previously served as the association’s vice president. He succeeds Vinod Aggarwal, the Managing Director and CEO of Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV). He will dedicate his efforts to advancing India’s electric mobility and navigating global supply chain challenges.
SIAM also announced the appointment of Shenu Agarwal, currently the Managing Director and CEO of Ashok Leyland, as the new Vice-President for the upcoming term. Additionally, Satyakam Arya, CEO and Managing Director of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, has been named the Treasurer.
