In a major move, Spotify has started video podcasts for all its users. This is Spotify’s latest major development in podcasts following a string of exclusive deals. Spotify’s video podcasts are available globally for all users even without a premium subscription.
Spotify users will have access to a few video podcast shows such as Book of Basketball 2.0, Fantasy Footballers, The Misfits Podcast, H3 Podcast, The Morning Toast, Higher Learning with Van Lathan & Rachel Lindsay, and The Rooster Teeth Podcast.
The video podcasts will start playing automatically when users tune into them on Spotify. Users can also lock their phones and the audio will continue playing in the background. Spotify says that video podcasts consume minimal data usage. Video podcasts are playable on Spotify’s mobile app and on its desktop version as well.
