Skyflow, a company specializing in data privacy vaults, has successfully raised $30 million in an extension of its Series B financing round. The funding effort was spearheaded by Khosla Ventures, with participation from existing investors Mouro Capital, Foundation Capital, and Canvas Ventures. This financial milestone is a testament to Skyflow’s impressive revenue surge of over 210%, coupled with its rapid market penetration in safeguarding sensitive data for Large Language Models (LLMs).

As a leader in data privacy, Skyflow offers an innovative solution designed to effortlessly segregate, safeguard, and manage consumers’ critical data. Boasting a worldwide network of data privacy vaults, Skyflow provides a robust framework for enterprises aiming to securely deploy LLMs and adhere to intricate data localization mandates. The company’s platform presently safeguards nearly a billion records for internationally recognized clients such as GoodRx, Lenovo, and Hippocratic AI, handling upwards of two billion API requests every quarter.

Vinod Khosla, Founder of Khosla Ventures, highlighted the growing necessity for dependable privacy and trust infrastructure within AI-driven enterprise applications. He commended Skyflow for its forward-thinking approach to data management and protection, across diverse applications, cloud services, or LLM environments, marking it as an essential partner for all businesses.

Anshu Sharma, Skyflow’s Co-Founder and CEO, emphasized the critical need for integrating privacy into the core technological framework of companies, especially as LLMs and AI technologies continue to evolve and consume vast amounts of personal information. Skyflow stands out as the solitary platform enabling businesses to embed privacy into their infrastructure effortlessly, without necessitating comprehensive overhauls, on a global scale.

Skyflow employs a unique method known as polymorphic encryption, a groundbreaking encryption technique that ensures data protection without compromising its utility for vital business functions like analytics, marketing, and customer support.

The widespread adoption of LLMs across industries, despite the lack of adequate data protection mechanisms, poses significant compliance, security, and privacy challenges. Skyflow addresses these concerns by serving as a protective layer, preventing sensitive data from being incorporated into AI models, thereby simplifying and securing generative AI adoption. It allows companies to define what constitutes sensitive information, offering protection that extends beyond personally identifiable information (PII) or proprietary data.

Furthermore, Skyflow has expanded its data residency capabilities to include China, facilitating global enterprises to expand in Asia while complying with the country’s stringent data privacy and security laws, such as the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) and the Cybersecurity Law (CSL). With its comprehensive global data privacy vault infrastructure, Skyflow supports data localization requirements in over 150 countries, enabling customers to manage and localize sensitive data with ease.
