IBM has announced the launch of its generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) innovation centre in Kochi. According to IBM, the centre will allow the community to leverage generative AI to “address societal and business challenges ranging from sustainability, public infrastructure, healthcare business, inclusion and more.”

A statement by the company informed that the centre is a part of the IBM India Software Lab located in the city, where enterprises, startups and partners will be able to explore, experience and build GenAI technology.

The centre will also give the organisations access to IBM’s experts and technologies, helping them set up and boost the adoption of enterprise-grade AI, which utilises AI/ML, natural language processing and predictive analytics to derive business decisions and goals.

Dinesh Nirmal, Senior Vice President, Products, IBM Software, said, “ The GenAI Innovation Center furthers IBM’s commitment to nurturing India’s AI community and catalysing innovation through co-creation and collaboration, with an aim to serve the country’s best interests of growing AI skilled talent, boosting organisation productivity and improving citizen services.”

The centre comes with technology that enhances large language models (LLM) for the clients with their own data while integrating IBM’s AI and data platforms and AI assistant technologies.
