Eli Lilly and Company has announced plans to open a global capability centre in Hyderabad, called Lilly Capability Centre India (LCCI) Hyderabad. The centre will focus on improving its digital strategy and service delivery. The company will hire over 1,000 people for this initiative.

The LCCI Hyderabad will focus on areas like automation, artificial intelligence, software product engineering, and cloud computing. These areas will support Lilly’s global business needs. Recruitment for the centre has started, and operations are planned to begin by mid-2025.

The company plans to hire 1,000 to 1,500 professionals, including technology engineers and data scientists. This will be Lilly’s second capability centre in India. The first, LCCI Bengaluru, was launched in 2016.

Lilly’s Executive Vice President and Chief Information and Digital Officer, Diogo Rau, said Hyderabad is known for its focus on technology. He said the new centre will bring together skilled professionals to work on tools and technologies for global health issues.

Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Telangana Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce, and Legislative Affairs, said this move shows Hyderabad’s role in healthcare and technology. The LCCI Hyderabad will work on using data and technology to improve Lilly’s work, helping the company deliver new medicines to patients around the world.
