CtrlS Datacenters revealed that Intel had opened a research and development lab for its next-generation processors.

The Bengaluru lab is specifically made to support extensive testing, emphasising the creation of dependable and high-calibre computer systems. Intel wants to foster innovation in microprocessor technology by using the talent and knowledge of the region by forging a significant foothold in India’s technological center.

Twelve data centers with a combined capacity of 234MW are being operated by CtrlS Datacenters Ltd, which commenced operations in 2007 and is spread throughout seven Indian cities: Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Noida, Lucknow, and Patna.

The chairman of CtrlS Datacenters Ltd., Sridhar Pinnapureddy, expressed his enthusiasm for the launch of Intel’s next-generation processor lab in their data center in Bengaluru. He looks forward to meeting the growing needs of the Intel team in the upcoming years and wishes the Intel team all the best.

To foster collaboration and the development of an ecosystem around its products, Intel also intends to make these labs available to its ecosystem partners, such as memory suppliers and systems Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs). The chipmaker also unveiled an unparalleled collection of AI products this week to support clients’ AI solutions spanning PC, network, edge, data center, and cloud.

CtrlS declared in October that it would invest $2 billion over the following six years to grow its business and scale its operations. In response to the increasing demand for AI and cloud adoption, the Hyderabad-based company is investing in better cooling, power management, and overall infrastructure design in its new hyperscale data centers. The investment strategy is to expand the hyperscale and edge data centers in India and certain Southeast Asian regions by 350 MW.
