Cleartrip appoints Ganesh Ramaswamy as its chief product and technology officer By Elets News Network - 27 June 2023

Cleartrip announced the appointment of Ganesh Ramaswamy as chief product and technology officer. “Ramaswamy will spearhead the company’s product vision, strategy, and technology platform to accelerate innovation in his new role,” the company said in a statement.

Ramaswamy joins Cleartrip from Flipkart, where he worked for four years in the supply chain fulfilment and services group.

He previously worked at Yahoo, where he led teams in advertisement and data systems. Before that, he worked at GwynnieBee/Caastle, a clothing-as-a-service startup, where he led data platforms and user retention teams. He was also the head of product and engineering at Qikwell, a healthcare startup acquired by the Practo healthcare platform.

Cleartrip CEO Ayyappan R. commented on the appointment, saying, “As we continue to scale our operations, we are pleased to welcome Ganesh Ramaswamy, a valued industry veteran, to our tribe.”

According to Ayyappan, Ramaswamy shares Cleartrip’s commitment and obsession with improved customer experience and digital innovation. “We are confident that his expertise in tech-led business development will add immense value to Cleartrip’s growth journey, enabling us to stay ahead of the curve,” he added.

Ramaswamy, who holds a bachelor of engineering (B.E.) in electrical and electronics engineering from the University of Madras, added, “Over the years, Cleatrip has continued to disrupt the online travel space with its unrivalled customer experiences, cutting-edge product offerings, and innovation-led solutions.” As more travellers seek personalized and unique experiences, Cleartrip is uniquely positioned to disrupt this space with its deep tech, industry expertise, and customer-first approach”, added that he looks forward to furthering Cleartrip’s vision by working collaboratively with the team to deliver superior products and great customer value.”

Cleartrip was founded in 2006 by Hrush Bhatt, Stuart Crighton, and Matthew Spacie. It was one of India’s oldest travel booking companies. In the month of April 2021. Flipkart has officially announced its intention to buy out Cleartrip for a total of $40 million. As part of the agreement, Cleartrip will continue to operate as a separate brand alongside Flipkart in order to diversify product offerings for customers.
