NVIDIA to Invest $3 Billion in Meta as the Two Expand Partnership on Muse AI Agents By Elets News Network - 27 October 2026

NVIDIA and Meta have widened their artificial intelligence alliance, agreeing to work together on Meta’s Muse family of models and agents, while the chipmaker has said it will put $3 billion into Meta’s ongoing equity offering. The move ties the world’s most valuable AI hardware supplier more closely to one of its largest customers at a time when demand for AI agents is reshaping how hyperscalers plan compute.

What the two companies agreed

According to the joint announcement, the partnership will focus on improving both training and inference performance for Muse models. Meta’s Muse assistant, which runs on NVIDIA infrastructure, has seen a surge in consumer downloads since launch and has posted frontier-level benchmark results, the companies said.

Meta also plans to expand its use of NVIDIA’s next-generation stack, including Vera Rubin systems and Vera CPUs for its next wave of AI agents, along with Spectrum-X Ethernet networking and BlueField-4 data processing units to improve throughput and efficiency across its data centres.

The two sides said they will explore further collaboration around NVIDIA’s OpenShell reference architecture for safer agent deployment and NVIDIA Sentry for monitoring agent behaviour. These elements remain under consideration rather than finalised.

The $3 billion cheque

NVIDIA’s proposed $3 billion investment comes as Meta raises fresh capital to fund its AI infrastructure build-out. Meta has upsized its common stock offering to $25 billion from $22.5 billion, priced at $625 a share, and together with a depository share offering the raise could bring in up to $37.5 billion. Earlier this week, Meta outlined a plan to raise around $95 billion overall, including a separate $60 billion at-the-market programme, to support its AI ambitions spanning its apps, the Muse agent and its data centre business.

The investment effectively turns a supplier-customer relationship into an ownership stake, aligning NVIDIA’s financial interests with Meta’s success even as Meta commits to deploying hardware that is still ramping to full commercial scale.

Why it matters for enterprise and Indian AI leaders

For CIOs and technology leaders, the deal is another sign that the industry’s centre of gravity is shifting from chatbots to agents that use tools and complete tasks on a user’s behalf. Agents are far more compute-hungry than single-turn queries, which is why inference efficiency and total cost of ownership are now central to every large AI roadmap.

The development is also relevant for India, where enterprises, GPU cloud providers and sovereign AI programmes are competing for access to the same next-generation NVIDIA systems. As global hyperscalers lock in multi-year capacity, Indian AI builders will need to plan compute procurement, agent security and monitoring early, rather than treating them as afterthoughts.

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang described the expanded partnership as an effort to optimise computing infrastructure end to end for capable, efficient and secure AI agents.
