Qualcomm announced its latest Snapdragon mobile platform, loaded with advanced on-device AI capabilities that greatly enhance smartphone performance. This new chip integrates cutting-edge machine learning algorithms directly into the device, enabling faster processing for applications like photography, gaming, and voice assistants.

Chris Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mobile Handsets, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., said, “A few years ago, we took the audacious call to build a chipset for 5G SA networks to enable a $99 phone. We have incredible engineering talent in India, and we designed the chip to reach that cost structure. And we are talking to partners to enable selling a phone for Rs 8,300 and even lower.”

A press note by Qualcomm quoted Muralikrishnan B, President of Xiaomi India, as saying, “Many people have yet to experience the benefits of 5G, and thanks to Snapdragon 4s Gen 2, Xiaomi can bring 5G connectivity to a broader audience to help reshape the way the world connects and interacts.”

Snapdragon’s mobile platform has a powerful AI engine that can perform trillions of operations per second. It improves the performance of smartphones through real-time processing, extended battery life, better photography techniques, smoother gameplay and realistic visuals with high-quality graphics, improved voice assistants, better security features like facial recognition and biometric authentication, and more intuitive and adaptive user experiences and learning user preferences.
