Sampath Manickam, Chief Technology Officer, National Stock Exchange emphasised AI’s role in driving operational efficiency, alongside the indispensable contribution of human expertise to deliver impactful innovation. “From ensuring smooth automation to rigorously testing new solutions, human intervention complements AI to deliver reliable, impactful outcomes. Together, they create a synergy that revolutionises possibilities across industries,” he said.
Discussions on scaling GenAI solutions for long-term success offered unique insights, highlighting innovative strategies for enterprise AI solutions and ensuring long-term success in the industry.
Prashanth Balasubramaniyan, Chief Strategy Officer, Touras (Safexpay), emphasised that Gen AI is far more than ChatGPT. “It’s a transformative technology with applications beyond conversational AI, driving innovation and streamlining workflow,” he said.
Vivek Parihar, Head of Engineering at Purplle, shared insights into security concerns as they scaled Gen AI, revealing how their team implemented anonymisation and strict security protocols to ensure data integrity. “Most available data is unstructured and unnormalized, raising concerns about its safe use and potential misuse. To address this, we implemented a robust security framework, anonymising and rigorously testing data before it’s processed by Gen AI, ensuring data integrity and privacy while enabling secure, compliant use,” he said.
Further discussing the data security issue, Jinen Dedhia, Co-founder & CTO, DronaHQ, said “Customer feedback on data security led us to develop on-premise solutions, offering flexibility without compromising data ownership and security.”
The summit also highlighted the importance of responsible technology. Ramesh Narayanaswamy, CTO of Aditya Birla Capital, stressed that adherence to regulations is non-negotiable, as stricter rules make accountability essential. “Businesses must work collaboratively to leverage tech responsibly, creating a more ethical future, with regulators stepping in when necessary,” he said.
Data-Driven Strategies
The power of data in driving business decisions and the importance of data security were emphasised.
Highlighting the key role of data in modern business strategies, Sudipta Ghosh, Partner at PwC, said “Data is now a source of sustained competitive advantage. Its uniqueness lies in its irreplicability, offering insights specific to a business’s operations, which drive actionable decisions and improved outcomes.”
Rajgopal Nayak, Chief Technology Officer at Metro Brands Limited, shared valuable insights on the critical metrics for offline retail success. He emphasised, “Data is the foundation for decision-making, with profitability and same-store growth being key indicators. Effective data analysis and actionable strategies are what separate thriving retailers from those that struggle.”
Zero Trust and Compliance
The engaging discussions at the summit also explored the critical role of Zero Trust in modern cybersecurity and evolving compliance landscape.
Vijay Kumar Verma, SVP & Head – Cyber Security Engineering, Jio Platform Limited, said “Zero Trust is about ensuring that only the right people, using the right devices, at the right time, have access to resources. It’s an ongoing process of continuous verification to enhance security.”
Harsh Parikh, Head – Cyber Security & Data Privacy, Tata Digital highlighted the “trust no one” principle and the importance of segregated architecture. “Zero Trust operates on the principle of ‘trust no one,’ using authorisation and authentication as core elements. Segregated architecture ensures secure, controlled communication within the system.”
Ranjeeth Bellary, Partner, EY elaborated how Zero Trust mitigates risks like unauthorized access and lateral movement within networks, stressing its importance in preventing cyber incidents. He said, “Zero Trust is essential to prevent unauthorised access by continuously authenticating users. It addresses risks like hackers compromising credentials and moving laterally within networks to exploit vulnerabilities.”
