In Pune, India, Vertiv has opened a brand-new, cutting-edge worldwide research and development (R&D) facility. The new, spacious facility is outfitted with cutting-edge lab facilities that will assist the development of future Vertiv products and the company’s aim to foster creativity.

The new facility, which is 30,000 square feet in size and is situated in the city’s centre neighbourhood of Viman Nagar, is a calculated move toward increasing Vertiv’s footprint in India and investing in the vast talent pool present there. In addition to providing shared design services for Infrastructure and Services and Integrated Rack Solutions, the global R&D centre will serve six new business lines.

Executives from Vertiv, including Steve Blackwell, vice president of global engineering, and Subrahmanyam Jana, senior director, global engineering, as well as Vertiv CEO Rob Johnson digitally, officially opened the new facility. A grand opening celebration was held to mark the milestone, and it featured employee activities, a town hall with the leadership team, and dinner. Employees with a lengthy history of service were also honoured.
“Vertiv continues in its strategy to build regional innovation centers, allowing us to leverage regional expertise while growing our capabilities,” said Johnson. “We’re looking forward to the contributions this new team will make to our R&D program.”
