Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) has acquired a 60% controlling stake in Pegatron Technology India Private Limited (PTI), a subsidiary of Taiwan’s Pegatron Corporation. Pegatron India provides electronics manufacturing services to global brands, including Apple, with exports to North America, Asia, and Europe.
Under the agreement, TEPL and PTI will integrate their teams for seamless operations. The Tata Company informed that PTI will undergo rebranding to reflect its new ownership structure and direction while continuing to deliver electronics manufacturing services.

The move comes less than a year after TEPL acquired Wistron’s India operations in March 2024, part of the Tata Group’s broader strategy to invest heavily in electronics manufacturing.

Dr Randhir Thakur, the CEO and MD of Tata Electronics, stated that the acquisition aligns with the company’s strategy to expand its manufacturing footprint. He said, “We look forward to a new era of AI, digital, and technology-led manufacturing as we bring up these new facilities and expand our operations in India.”
The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved the acquisition earlier this month. TEPL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Sons, is known for manufacturing high-precision components for major clients.
